Ms. Kern is a licensed Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner at Family Medical Centers’ Orange Park location and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
She is trained in the diagnosis of acute and chronic illness and in the implementation of appropriate plans of care.
Prior to joining Family Medical Centers, she served as a primary care provider for adults 55 and older working with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and services to nursing home level-of-care patients in Ohio.

Melanie Abboud is an advanced practice registered nurse with Family Medical Centers. A diligent and team-oriented professional, Jacksonville native Abboud joined the team with more than nine years of experience providing patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment.
Abboud earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner Candidate at South University in Savannah, Georgia and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University, Florida. Prior to joining Family Medical Centers, Abboud worked for Baptist Health in Jacksonville as an Emergency Department Nurse, providing hands-on care to patients by administering medications, managing intravenous lines and monitoring patient conditions.

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Amber Fredette has more than eleven years as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. Fredette obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She then worked as an emergency room nurse and in cardiac units. In 2016, she began her family nurse practitioner education at the University of South Alabama, where she received both her Master of Science in Nursing focusing on family and emergency medicine and obtained certification as a family nurse practitioner. Licensed in Florida, Fredette continued her clinical practice as a charge nurse and preceptor before coming to work for Family Medical Centers. She has served on four committees that work to maintain the quality of health care including serving as Chair of the Emergency Department Unit Council at the Mayo Clinic.
