Family Medical Centers Welcomes Dr. Marinelle Platon-Jones to New Bartram Park Practice

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – September 2, 2014 – Family Medical Centers welcomes Dr. Marinelle Platon-Jones to their new Bartram Park office, to now serve patients at 11 Northeast Florida locations.

Dr. Platon-Jones comes to Family Medical Centers after completing an allopathic family medicine residency from Florida Hospital in Winter Park/Orlando, Fla., where she focused on outpatient and inpatient care, especially in preventative medicine, women’s health, adult and pediatric health, and mental health.

I look forward to the opportunity to create caring relationships with patients and their families and in collaborating with them to attain goals of healthy living and optimal health outcomes,” said Jones.

Dr. Platon-Jones was a flight surgeon and medical department head for the United States Navy at Jacksonville’s Naval Air Station where she was a primary care provider to a squadron of about 370 personnel. She obtained Naval Flight Surgeon Wings from Naval Flight Surgery School, Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola, Fla. in 2008 and an Internal Medicine Internship from the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland in 2007. She is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at the New York Institute of Technology.

She holds a Florida Osteopathic Physician License and is board-eligible by the American Board of Family Practice. Platon-Jones is a member of the American Academy of Family Physician and the Florida Academy of Family Physician. She is active in coastal activities including running 5Ks, indoor and beach volleyball, SCUBA diving, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing.
